		<description>What is really scary is that the transaction tax was actually a part of the original TARP bill (the first TARP bill that did not receive enough votes, causing market to tank 700 points). It was buried in the bill. 

Imagine, that is how close it got to being passed. With Democrats getting even larger majorities in both house and senate, this fucking thing could pass one of these days.</description>

		<description>Did you see all those fuckers lobbying for 0.25% transaction tax on sale and purchase (NOT profits) of all securiites, options, futures, etc?

Problem is that large institutions and traders (hedge funds) would probably lobby their way out of paying this tax via some bullshit exemption. Because of this it is possible that this tax could make it into some bill. Meaning that only daytraders would be royally fucked.

Looks like I may have to start learning poker just in case.</description>
