It’s pretty sick how John Chow has turned his blog into a full-scaled money makingmachine in just a little over 7 months. No one even knew who this guy was a year ago. And now he’s pretty well known in the blogsophere. In March 2007, his blog earned $8,545.25.

Multiplied by 12, that’s a nicesix figure salary! Talking about the easiestsix figure job in the world…all he has to do is expound his knowledge about the internet marketing and affiliate business and that’s it! That is pretty sick.
So, one of my goals for 2007 was to grow the readership of this blog from 400/day to 2000/day. Well, I haven’t done much to meet that goal mainly because I’ve been focusing a lot of my time on daytrading. One thing that I remember John Chow saying was that people have to put deadlines on goals, otherwise they have an “easy out” as far as meeting those goals. I am definitely guilty of that. There are a ton of things on my mind that I’d like to accomplish, but I don’t have any deadlines on any of those ideas, so knowing myself, they will most likely go unfulfilled until I “get around to it”. I need to start setting deadlines.
The reason why I’m bringing all of this up is because I finally figured out why adsense wasn’t letting me display ads on this site. Boogster.com is listed as a “gambling related” site and adsense does not allow gambling related sites to display ads. I found a workaround. I registered boogster.net a few years ago andif I use that domain name instead of boogster.com, then I can display google adsense ads on this blog. The only problem is that I already have a bunch ofpeople who link to me viaboogster.com/blog. It’s not a big deal if I change the URL to boogster.net, but it may cause some confusion to my readers.
I’m not planning on displaying any ads in the near future, but I just wanted to figure out why it wasn’t working. Now, I know. So, for any of you 4 or 5 guys on the “boogster network”, if you want to use google ads on your blog, you can change your blog url to boogster.net in your options page via wp-admin.
I’d like to put ads on my page one of these days, especially seeing how much John Chow makes, but I’d like to grow my readership base first….
That is crazy!! Goodness, i wish i was smart like that.

They never check to see that you’re publishing them on non-gambling pages, they just check to see if the site you originally apply to serve ads on is gambling related or not, so just slap up the Adsense ads on Boogster.com and all shall be fine.
