Friday.

I didn’t realize that newspapers actually choose to endorse candidates. Aren’t they supposed to be somewhat unbiased? Nothing against the Washington Post choosing a candidate, but if I were voting for McCain, then I’d be a little bit bitter and may choose not to read the Post for that reason. Anyways, I thought that it was kinda weird hearing their “announcement”.

The Red Sox seemed to have done the impossible by overcoming a 7-0 deficit in game 5 to keep their hopes alive in the ALCS. I’m not even a big baseball fan, but everybody and their moms keep talking about it, so I’ve taken notice.

I’m sitting here at my new favorite restaurant, Busboys and Poets, with Free Wifi, of course.  They got this nice little lounge upstairs with plenty of power outlets everywhere.  As a matter of fact, I asked one of the waitresses if there were any outlets and she ethusiastically walked around with me looking for the outlets.  My kind of place.  Here’s a big F U to the douchebag at that small cafe on 7th street who told me to leave unless I purchased something.  He’s probably selling Big Macs at the local Mickey D’s now because that cafe definitely went out of business.  I think my old Starbucks is finished too.  That place was a little ghetto.  And there were a lot of Crazies who went there.

All of my stocks are climbing higher today.  They are pretty much all green.  I’m about at the level where I was on Monday now.  Still down about $24k from my all time highs though.  Not too bad, but I’d much rather be in the black.  I was definitely in the black at the end of last month to the tune of about $5k or so.  The first “black” that I’ve seen since Black Wednesday.  And trust me, it took a lot of clawing to get into the black after that debacle.  Anyways, I am holding.  I’m in agreeance with The Fly on lightening the load if the Dow goes above 10,000 again, which looks very doable with the current pattern.  Maybe by early next week?

Yesterday, I took a few trades in the YM, POT, and UYG.  I ended up pretty much at breakeven from those trades, even though I was correct with my calls.  The YM stopped me out with a spike lower, before surging higher.  That was such a dagger because we ended up rallying over 800 points from those lows.  A little bit hurting, but I made it all back in a UYG trade.  So, -$450 on the YM trade, -$550 on POT, and +$1000 on UYG.  Breakeven.

Damn, I am getting eaten alive by mosquitos in this joint.  They got all of the “garage doors” open because it’s pretty nice outside today, but the mosquitos haven’t quite left the area yet.  And mosquitos love me, in a non-sexual, I’m gonna give you itchy red welts all over your body type of way.  Hurt-ing.

Alright, time to get some work done.  I don’t even have a real job and I feel obligated to do “work” every day.  What kind of shit is that?  I should be sleeping in until noon, playing a round of golf, and then eating ice cream sandwiches until my belly hurts.  With that said, I will leave you with the top ten questions that I am most frequently asked about my business:

What do you do every day?

Answer emails, watch the stock market, and work on my website.

What time do you wake up?

Around 8am

Why do you wake up so early?

Because annoying coworkers, stupid meetings, and bullshit work is not waiting for me when I wake up, so I actually enjoy waking up to get the day started.

What kind of website is it?

Web portal for online gaming sites.

Gaming?

Well, we bring customers to online poker, sportsbook, casino sites….ehem…gambling…

Really?

Yes.

Isn’t online poker illegal?

Nah, it’s not illegal.  It’s a gray area right now, but definitely not illegal.

How do you make money?

Well, we bring customers to the gaming websites, and they pay us for each of the players that we bring to them.

Why do they go to your website and not just directly to the poker site?

We give them gifts for signing up through us, whereas if they went directly to the site, they wouldn’t get anything.

Exciting.  And you make enough from this to support yourself?

Yup.  It’s been over three years now.

What’s the name of your website?

Boogster.com

Boobster.com?

No. BOOGSTER.COM.  As in Booger, but with the ST.

How’d you come up with that name?

Long story.  And no, it doesn’t involve me picking my nose and eating my own boogers.

So, that’s pretty much the line of questioning that I get from everybody new that I meet.  It’s kinda funny because I know exactly what question is coming next, usually.  It’s all good.  I can talk about boogster all day if someone is interested in knowing.  Just like I can pretty much talk about the stock market all day.  Peace out.  Have a good weekend.
