Bitter

Just got back from a 12-hour session.  Same story, different day.  I couldn’t do a damn thing today.  Lost just over a thousand.  Dagger.  It was a just a matter of time before I “ran bad” and gave some back.  I don’t think that I played bad, I just kinda grinded myself down.

To make matters worse, the last hand of the night…I’m about to get up and the dealer deals me a pocket Aces and I’m in the big blind.  There’s already a raiser, and a caller, so I pop it up to $100.  They all knew that it was my last  hand, so both dude’s call.  The flop comes K-Q-4.  I’m like…no K, no Q and I’m golden…go figure.  So, I check and it checks all the way around.  The turn brings a 7.  I check again, and it goes $100, and raise to $300.  I had to fold in that spot…pocket queens, pocket kings, and KQ all have me beat…I missed my chance to bet the flop and that was it.  One dude turned over Q-T and the raiser turned over A-Q.  What a dagger.  This hand was so indicative of my entire day.

I was like KGB after Mikey checked him  down the entire night, and took his entire stack…

This son of bitch, all night he check, check, check.
                He trapped me!
Well, you feeling satisfied now, Teddy?
'Cause I can go on busting you up all night.
                Nyet! Nyet!
                He beat me. Straight up.
                Pay him.
                Pay that man his money.

I was paying money to other people all night. God I hate leaving on a sour note. Oh well, there’s always another day…mf’er.

  1. sucks, man. I would have done the same tho if not worse.

Hey, another question on IB. It looks like they have cancellation fee. Do you think this will be an issue in day trading? If I understand correctly, every time I place an order and cancel, IB charges me??

Also, can you verify if you get a quote for LBS (lumber globex) in IB without full CME?

  2. I believe cancellation fees are associated with the exchanges and not IB itself. These fees are standard through any brokerage. I don’t think that they apply to globex or any of the minis. Unless you are trading a ridiculous amount of shares via Amex, NYSE or nasdaq, I don’t think it’ll make a difference for you.

Yeah, I can get LBS quotes via globex for free.

  3. Thanks buddy. I mostly trade futures and I don’t remember getting charged on any cancellation fees, so I thought I should ask. I guess that’s only for stocks. I really appreciate it man.
